About Judith

Family

Judith Cullington has been married to Glen Okrainetz for almost 30 years, 17 of those years spent in Colwood raising their sons Paul and Chris. She enjoys hiking, biking, camping, gardening, and spending time with her family.

Judith understands the special quality of life we enjoy here in Colwood, and will continue to work hard on behalf of our community's families and businesses.

Community Involvement and Experience 

Judith is an active member of our community:

  • While on Council, she has served as the Chair of the Transportation and Public Infrastructure committee, and also serves on Planning and Land Use, Parks, Cycling Advisory Committee, & Mayor's Task Force on Energy and Economic Growth. She represents Colwood as an Alternate Director for the Capital Regional District, and as a member of the CRD Climate Action Committee, Climate Action West Shore and Esquimalt Lagoon Stewardship Initiative.   
  • In 2008, Judith was appointed as one of four community members to serve on Colwood Official Community Plan Steering Committee.
  • She has been a proud member of Colwood's Parks Committee since 2004.

  • Esquimalt Lagoon Stewardship Initiative (ELSI): Judith joined ELSI when it started in 2001 and takes part in various activities including beach clean-ups and dune restoration.
  • Colwood Association for Smart Growth: Judith worked with others to promote smart growth concepts on the West Shore, and to incorporate these important and fiscally responsible concepts into the OCP. 
  • Judith worked with an amazing team of volunteers to pull off the first Green Living Expo in 2008, showcasing local businesses and their ‘green’ products and services. 
  • 10th Juan de Fuca Scouting; Judith enjoyed 10 years as a volunteer with “the 10th”, for three years as a Beaver Leader and later as Group Committee Chair.
  • Urban Forest Stewardship Initiative: Judith co-founded this initiative in 2003, and led a project to map the urban forest throughout Greater Victoria.
  • The West Shore Cultural Collaboratory: Judith facilitated meetings for the Collaboratory, to discuss ways to bring arts and culture to the West Shore.

Judith has run her own successful consulting company for the past 15 years, and understands the challenges of running a business.
